Well, it's official. You guys rock.

"Hey! Where's Perry?" was an unqualified success.

You all did an amazing job. You jumped in with enthusiasm, you wrote some amazing posts and in short you made it fun to be your Commander.

I decided that today was a good day to turn the corner. I think we chased Perry about as far as we could and it was time to put him out to pasture.

The "character development" style posts that are currently in progress have (since they are plot independent) been moved to the new plot already.

The new plot is called "Seeking Sanctuary" and is some what "trope-ish" but I think we'll have fun.

Here's the "teaser trailer":

A badly damaged freighter signals Starbase Flight Operations, begging for help. They are under attack from enemies unknown.

Their shields are failing, they are basically unarmed and their cargo is important medical supplies for Arcadia.

The fighter wing chases off the attackers, the freighter docks and repairs are scheduled to begin while the medical supplies are off loaded.

Or at least that was the plan.

No one answers the comms after the freighter docks at internal bay 31.

The hull is reflecting all attempts to scan the interior.

And then, all Gre`Thor breaks loose.

I am looking for posts from the fighter wing, right out of the gate. Ops picks up the distress call, the fighters scramble, and there is a BRIEF fire fight, after which the attackers turn tail and run.

Ops and Flight Ops will have to deal with getting the "badly damaged" (according to sensors) freighter tucked in and safe.

StratOps will coordinate with the small Task Group that just arrived (already looking for pirates) to try (unsuccessfully) to find who, what, when, where and why the freighter was attacked.

Security and Medical will be on hand at the docking port for obvious reasons.

Science, well, you don't exist yet, but if you did, you would have your hands full very soon.

Just remember boys and girls; "The Word is Truth and The Truth will set you free." (cue dramatic music and evil DM laughter.)

P.S. The rumors of an imminent "T.P.K." are mostly false.

» Trek Nation

Posted on Monday February 25th, 2013 @ 2:02pm by Lieutenant Adam Fasolino in Out of Character

Hey everybody,

Last night I finally got a chance to watch the documentary "Trek Nation" that I had PVRed earlier. It's narrated by Gene Roddenberry's son, Eugene Roddenberry Jr. In it he tells of how his dad died when he was only 17 and he never knew him that well. He decided to learn more about his dad by exploring the vast world of Star Trek that his father had created. The documentary tells the entire timeline, from the original pilot "The Cage" all the way to the 2009 movie. There's great video and audio clips and interviews with writers and actors. He even does an interview with George Lucas! I highly recommend every fan watch it, it's really good. And for all the guys, the exploration of the father-son relationship is really heartwarming, especially for anyone who has lost their dad, like me (and my character). Hope you all decide to check it out, you'll enjoy it. Thanks.

Adam
